A website (leicestermasayalink.org.uk) created to promote the link between the two cities says their aims are: To work towards the relief of poverty in the Masaya Region by facilitating partnerships for sustainable development and to raise public awareness around global issues in both Leicester and Masaya.
The city is also culturally known as the “City of Flowers”.
